Long between updates...

There are no new photos to share... things here have been quite busy yet very slow. Syrah has been battling one sickness after another and finally seems to get getting well again. We have been able to have dinner with some family and friends here and there. The end of the school year activity's have started. It's a busy time of year, with lots to do, but not so much worthy of pictures yet (that is a way of me not taking accountability for not having the camera ready). We have some fun exciting things ahead and look forward to sharing soon.
Happy last day of April!

Just Because...

There have not been many "days of the month" worth mentioning (National Cheeseball day, Look alike day, National Jelly Bean Day, Take a Chance day, National Prime Rib day)... So, I wanted to just say let just have a beautiful, appreciate the beauty that was created for our Joy day!!

I am going to take some time today to really look around at all the beauty this world has to offer and appreciate the things that I often take for granted.

Have a BEAUTIFUL DAY and while you are at it; take a moment to Thank God for it all!!

Are you kidding?!?!?!

Snow in April??? Not just a dusting, but a full on BLIZZARD!!!

It started snowing here this afternoon, but nothing was sticking... just coming down. Then about 3:30 it really started coming down. Even the cat is confused by the timing!
This is our new high living room window - from the view in the living room you can see HUGE flakes coming down.
This is at about 6:30 and it's still dumping. Looking forward to knowing if this goes into the night!
This has been one of the strangest seasons here I can remember... it snowed the day we got our keys and it was late in the year then; that was almost a month ago!!

We are HOME!

We are almost 100% unpacked and we are settling in. There aren't very many pictures on the walls and not all things have found the perfect spot, but wow do we feel blessed to have a place to call ours. There are so many things when you move into a place that are different, like where to put the garbage can or how to most effectively use the storage spaces. I am probably the most excited with our new garbage can... yeah, you read that right - I am excited over a garbage can, but I really think it is the funnest thing! Now that the camera is unpacked and the batteries are charged, we look forward to sharing many exciting happenings!

National Siblings Day

April 10th is National Sibling Day
National Sibling Day is a day to appreciate and cherish your brothers and sisters. Siblings are truly a special blessing that we probably all too often take for granted. They are often our best friends and supporters through life. Another reason to celebrate is that not everyone is lucky enough to have siblings. Their lives are significantly different growing up, and throughout life.

Origin of "National Sibling Day":
Claudia A. Evart, President and Founder of this day, initiated National Sibling Day after the tragic deaths of her brother and sister.
Twenty two state governors have issued proclamation on this day.

Theresa's Brother Eric and wife Lauren!

Bill's Brother Jake and his wife Jaime! (and their beautiful kids Koen & McKayla)
We celebrate the relationships we have with you and look forward to the years ahead! You are all a blessing to us and we love you all so much!!

Catching Up

It feels like the last few weeks has gone by so fast - we have been so busy with the move, painting the new place and with cleaning the old place up in order for it to be ready to serve the purpose of home for another family. Here are some of the pictures from our last few weeks!

On March 28th we got our keys to our new home!
On March 29th we took a trip up to Suncadia for my Grandma's birthday.
Right after we got our rooms we went to the pool. We had SO MUCH FUN playing in the water and there are two very nice waterslides (a bit big for Syrah, but Sadie loved them - so did Billy, Eric and Lauren!)
That nigth we went to dinner with Grandma for her birthday!
I know this is a tad dark, but I love this picture! Syrah in the lobby with a beautiful view!
Sadie in the same window!
Before we went home the girls got in the pool again this time with out mom, here is daddy and his girls!
Uncle Eric and Billy were playing "throw Syrah" which she LOVED!
Monday morning, Billy was up and at the new place getting the paint started!
We stayed at the house for the first time on Sunday night and the girls slept in Sadie's room together! For a few days after there was more packing and moving and moving and painting and unpacking and moving going on.
Last Saturday we were able to celebrate Samuel's tenth birthday ~ we look forward to watching him grow into the man that God has planned him to be.

Garden Week

Did you know that is is GARDEN WEEK this week (second week in April). For some this is a week to celebrate the fact that the season is here to get their hands in the dirt and start gardening and for others it is a time we (yes, I am included in the later) get to admire the beauty of a garden. Which is it for you??

My green thumb came only as a result of the mistakes I made while learning to see things from the plant's point of view. ~H. Fred Ale

The best place to seek God is in a garden. You can dig for him there. ~George Bernard Shaw, The Adventures of the Black Girl in Her Search for God, 1932

Reconciliation Day April 2, 2008

Reconciliation Day is a special day to patch relationships and to make amends. It's intention is to re-establish relationships between family, friends and couples. Life is too short to hold a grudge between those we love.

Since 1989, newspaper columnist Ann Landers has promoted April 2and as Reconciliation Day. She writes an annual article dedicated to this day. She posts and replies to readers' questions and issues on reconciliation.

The Ultimate Reconciliation:
Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. ~Romans 5:11

In our small group a few months ago we were studying the word "encouragement" and it was discussed that there is "encouragement day" one of several days that we can choose to celebrate. That has been on my mind for some time and so I started looking into what other "days" existed… over the next weeks and months I thought it would be fun to share some that I feel are worth mentioning and maybe a few that are just plan silly - like April 2nd also is Peanut Butter and Jelly Day! I hope you will check back to see the fun "days" ahead!!

In trying to clean up my site, I deleted and condensed this into one post… thank you for the feedback about the fun of having some "days to look forward to".
