Dozen things about TODAY:

1.       I got up at a ridiculously early this morning and don’t feel like I need more sleep.
2.       My oldest went off to High School today!
3.       I only drank 1 cup of coffee.
4.       Crepes were breakfast this morning; I rarely cook a big breakfast on the weekdays.
5.       I ate them; I rarely eat breakfast.
6.       My baby went off to the fourth grade today.
7.       By 10:30 this morning I had consumed more water than I usually do in a week.
8.       Probably because I am so nervous about line 2 and water is a better option than chocolate.
9.       Have I mentioned that I have been praying continually today.
10.   I am grateful for a God who had the string to my children… I trust Him.
11.   Blogged:  Blogging is something I haven’t done in ages.  I ride the fence of just ending it or trying to pick it back up.
12.   Bought my first thing from Living Social today.

Wonder what tomorrow will bring???

Happy Birthday Sadie

Happy Birthday Sadie!!

Happy 14th Birthday!

Sadie is an amazing young women; she is extremely smart, couragous, funny, caring, loyal, witty and strong. Sadie has grown up in this last year to be an independant thinker and accountable in life new ways. Sadie is a loving, protective big sister. Sadie loves the Lord, her family, reading, playing the piano (new hobby this year), being with her friends at school and youth group and she continues to love the arts. She has started working with the 2-3yr olds at church in the last month and has a huge heart for those kids!

Sadie has come a long way in these 14 years!

Sadie, we love you so much and are so proud of the choices you are making and the path you are on. We pray this year ahead be a year filled with blessings and filled with the peace only the Lord can provide. We thank you for the lessons you have taught us in your 14 years. We are so blessed by you.

Happy 9th Birthday to our sweet "Baby Girl"

Syrah has such a sweet heart; she cares for family and her friends and wants everyone to know the Lord. She is outgoing and always has something to share. Syrah loves reading, animals, swimming, family games, going on adventures, playing with her friends, soccer, school and being creative.

Syrah has grown a ton in this last year, both physically and maturity. She is becoming quite the young lady (will always be baby girl to me).

half a dozen things....

1. still in love with the movie dolphin tale and went to see the Help with Billy yesterday; although it wasn't the same as the book, they did a good job and I am left speechless!! What movies have captured you this year?

2. school has been in for two weeks now... everyone is exhausted today; I took a 3hr nap, Sadie is still napping and Syrah has been resting with a book ever since we got home from church!

3. amazed at how my "regular" drink at starbucks has never grown old and how it still a comfort to me. is that odd?

4. my laptop is dying a slow and painful death. i can't say i am too sad about it though; vista and i have been fighting a lot lately (ghost files, excel conflicts, print dysfunction)... when this one goes we will never have vista again!

5. have to thank my husband for pushing me to get a driod. i hate admitting he is right about electronics. i have found some very cool apps including fooducate which scans bar codes and tells your their ACTUAL food ratings (you would be surprised how many fail - even the "healthy" ones). It has really motivated all of us to change our eating habits. Last night Syrah and I cut up fresh fruit for about an hour... plums, pineapple, nectarines and more. Nice to have them all ready in the fridge for lunches and snacks.

6. Been doing an amazing study and a lot of time in the word lastly... each week (maybe bi-weekly if the Lord keeps things on my heart) I am going to be working on something specific. Last week was Not to whine and whimper over things I have no control over. This week Giving my best response when I am pushed beyond my limits.

What we did this weekend...

Syrah played in her first ever soccer tournament this weekend (5 games in 2 days). They came in second place out of six + teams (we know there were at least six teams, but not positive on how many). This is an amazing shot of Syrah taking a penalty kick (and scored)! Her team did an amazing job and I saw one of the most intense games ever yesterday!
